About Spring Bulletin Board
Spring Bulletin Board is an invite-only platform designed for community members to connect, share services, and post jobs within the community. It provides a safe and moderated environment where members can find opportunities to serve and be served.
This platform is maintained by site administrators and is exclusively for members of the community. All content is moderated to ensure it aligns with our community standards.
Platform Purpose
Spring Bulletin Board was created to strengthen our community by:
- Providing a platform for members to share their talents and skills
- Creating opportunities for youth to develop work experience
- Helping members find services within the trusted community
- Supporting small businesses run by community members
- Connecting those in need with those who can help
Our goal is to foster a spirit of service and mutual support among all community members, while providing a safe environment for youth to participate and gain valuable experience.
Invitation System
Spring Bulletin Board is an invite-only platform. New members can only join if they receive an invitation from:
- Site administrators
- Other authorized administrators
If you've received an invitation via email, simply follow the link provided and complete the registration process.
If you haven't received an invitation, please contact the site administrators.
Account Types
Adult Accounts
Standard accounts for members 18 years and older. Adult accounts can:
- Create service listings
- Post job opportunities (if they have a formal business profile)
- Express interest in others' listings
- Create a business profile
- Access all appropriate content on the platform
- Contact youth directly through the platform's mediated system
Youth Accounts (Ages 12-17)
Special accounts for young members between 12-17 years old. Youth accounts:
- Require parental consent to activate
- Can create service listings appropriate for youth
- Can express interest in appropriate service or job listings
- Have additional safety measures and restrictions
- Keep contact information private from adults
- Always involve parental notification for communications
- Automatically upgrade to adult accounts when the member turns 18
Youth Registration Process
Step 1: Youth Invitation Created
An administrator creates an invitation for a youth member, including at least one parent/guardian email address.
Step 2: Parent Consent Request
The parent/guardian receives an email with information about the platform and a link to provide consent for their youth's participation.
Step 3: Youth Registration Invitation
After parental consent is received, the youth receives an invitation email with a registration link.
Step 4: Youth Completes Registration
The youth completes the registration process and their account is activated with all youth-appropriate features.
Business Profiles
Adult users can create a business profile to represent their business on the platform. There are several types of business profiles:
Formal Business
For registered businesses with a formal structure. These businesses can:
- Post job opportunities
- Create service listings
- Display their business name instead of the owner's personal name
Home-based Business
For businesses operated from a residence. These businesses can:
- Create service listings
- Provide details about their services and capabilities
Individual Offering
For individuals who want to offer services but don't have a formal business structure. These users can create service listings under their personal profile.
Service Listings
Service listings allow users to offer their skills and services to the community. Both adult and youth users can create service listings.
Adult Service Listings
Adults can create service listings as:
- Formal businesses
- Home-based businesses
- Individual offerings
Adult listings include contact information and can be viewed by all users.
Youth Service Listings
Youth service listings have special protections:
- Contact information is not publicly displayed
- Adults can express interest, but cannot directly contact the youth
- Both the youth and their parent are notified when someone expresses interest
- The youth's parent can review who is interested before allowing contact
Job Postings
Job postings allow formal businesses to advertise employment opportunities to the community. Only adult users with formal business profiles can create job postings.

Audience Options
When creating a job posting, businesses can specify whether the job is appropriate for:
- Adults only
- Youth only
- Both adults and youth
Expressing Interest
The platform allows users to express interest in service listings and job postings. This process differs depending on the user types involved.
Adult-to-Adult Interest
When an adult expresses interest in another adult's listing:
- Contact information is shared directly
- Both parties receive notification
- They can communicate directly outside the platform
Adult-to-Youth Interest
When an adult expresses interest in a youth's service listing:
- The adult's contact information is provided to the youth and their parent
- The youth's contact information is NOT shared with the adult
- Both the youth and their parent receive notifications
- The parent can review the request and decide whether to allow contact
Youth Expressing Interest
When a youth expresses interest in a service or job:
- The listing owner receives the interest notification
- The youth's parent is notified about the interest expressed
- Communication occurs through the platform's protected channels
Content Moderation
All content on Spring Bulletin Board undergoes moderation to ensure it meets our community standards:
AI Moderation First Pass
Initially, all submitted content is automatically reviewed by our AI moderation system:
- Screens for inappropriate language or content
- Flags potentially problematic content for human review
- Helps categorize and tag content appropriately
- Works in real-time to provide immediate feedback
Human Moderation
After AI moderation, human moderators review content:
- Review all content flagged by the AI system
- Provide final approval or rejection decisions
- Offer feedback to users on rejected content
- Monitor platform activity for any issues
Content Standards:
- Appropriate for all ages
- Respectful and aligned with community values
- Honest and accurately described
- Free from inappropriate language or imagery
- Safe for youth participation
Security & Privacy
Data Encryption
Spring Bulletin Board takes data security seriously:

- Location data is stored with encryption for privacy

- Authentication App: Use apps like Google Authenticator or Authy
- Email Authentication: Receive verification codes via email
- SMS Authentication: Receive verification codes via text message
We recommend using an authentication app for the highest level of security.
Youth Privacy Protection
Special measures are in place to protect youth users:
- Contact information is never directly disclosed to adults
- Parents are always involved in communication approval
- Additional audit logging for youth-related activities
- Restricted visibility of certain content
Account Management
Account Statuses
Your account may have one of several statuses:
- Active: Your account is in good standing
- Suspended: Temporary restriction due to policy violations or suspicious activity
- Archived: Account has been deactivated but can be restored
- Pending: Awaiting completion of registration steps (such as parental consent for youth)
Communication Preferences
You can manage your communication preferences in your profile settings, including enabling or disabling SMS notifications for important updates and interest expressions.

Is this an official Church program?
No. Spring Bulletin Board is privately operated by local administrators. While it was created to serve local communities, it is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Is this a place to ask for help or financial support?
No. Spring Bulletin Board is designed for people to offer services, skills, or job opportunities. It is not a classified board for personal needs or a place to solicit help or donations.
Do I have to offer my services for free?
Not at all. Most service offerings on the platform are paid, whether it's a formal business, a side hustle, or youth looking to earn money. Some members may choose to offer help freely, but compensated services are completely welcome.
How do I join?
Accounts are created by invitation only. To request an invitation, email the site administrator at noreply@springbulletinboard.com. Youth accounts require parental consent.
How are youth accounts protected?
Youth accounts:
- Must be approved by a parent or guardian
- Do not display personal contact information
- Notify both the youth and their parent when someone expresses interest in a listing
This ensures a safe, supervised environment for participation.
Are membership directories used in any way?
No. Spring Bulletin Board does not access or use any external data systems or member directories. All participation is opt-in and initiated through the invitation system.
